(A visual post on our biking trip in Iowa.)
We again headed to one of our favorite trails in the Midwest!
Made our home for the weekend.
Had communal meals. And got a goodnights sleep.
Got up and got ready.
Loaded up the bikes.
The crew gathered!
And we hit the trail!
Passing through quaint towns along the way.
And breaking for lunch.

We made it to where we were ending for the day and took a little rest.
The began the trek back.
The end of day 1.
The troops were once again gathered.
My bike was ready to go, and so I was I for the most part. I'll spare you the details, but since none of us had ridden very much this year (me a total of 2 rides) we all opted to make it a short day.
These were everywhere and they're my favorite!
All in all considering...it wasn't bad for two days.
I definitely live for these days, and I was so glad we could make it out on another trip. Though I'm sad it's our last, and I wonder what fun active adventures await in the Philippines. P.S. I totally missed my girls Brea and Laurie out there!

ReplyDeleteHold up...you guys camped at the same lots as last year. Super cool! I see not one took our "baby-tent" spot. Saved just for us :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, Brea, that's totally our spot! That campsite really was idyllic. It's such a beautiful place. I miss you guys too. I've been out on the trail here a bit though. There's a nice path along the river here, though it's not very long. But I've been getting out on in on my roller blades everyday for the past week. All in all from my doorstep out and back it's 5.25 miles, so it's a good bit of exercise & it has wonderful scenery. I'll take you guys there if you're ever able to come for a visit. Glad you all had fun. I was picturing it all from last year in my mind as I was going through your pictures. Tell everyone I say hi!
