I Love L.A.

I love being in Southern California.  It's a lot easier to stay on track and make wise decisions.  We've been staying with my good friend Kyle the past few days and he is such an encouragement.  He's lost quite a bit of weight in the last year.  He's done two triathalons, has another one this month, and is currently training for a marathon.  Talk about motivation!

We had a great day today.  I was able to work out, which put me in a great mood, and then we went to one of my favorite places on earth.
Trader Joe's!  There's so many wonderful products in there, and Jordan let me pick up a few things.  I miss shopping there.  I wish there were more everywhere.  But I'll at least take it when I can get it.

Then Kyle took us to an amazing restaurant.

Everything they served was vegetarian and amazingly delicious.  I ordered the Carne Asada with the Spring Salad on the side.   $8.95 Grilled veggie-steak, marinated in Mexican spices, with southwestern spiced vegan mayo, red onion, lettuce, tomato on a wheat roll.  I would have never known that I wasn't actually eating meat.  It looked like it, tasted like it, the texture was there...it was so good.  I wish I could go there all the time.  I'm not a vegetarian, but this was a great wholesome meal.

To end the night, there was only one thing on my mind.
Frozen yogurt is one of my favorite things.  I got the fat free-sugar free chocolate, with walnuts, carob chips, and a few bananas, and it was worth every bite.  It's probably a good thing these aren't everywhere we go, because I would be tempted to eat it every day.  So it's a real treat to have some while we're out here.  I might just have to have it one more time before we go...
