Get on Your Bikes and Ride

Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Weekend!  I know I am. Friday night we had our friends Megan and Josh over to my folks house, and all collaborated on dinner and then we played a competitive game of Hawaiian Rummy.  I took the day off from working out, since the day before I had a killer day, but yesterday is was right back to it.  It was so beautiful out, so we jumped on the opportunity to get out and enjoy the day.  We loaded up all of the bikes and headed out to Smithville Lake.

Even Jordan joined in on our day oh fun.
He rode 18 miles!  I'm so proud of him and for pushing so hard and giving it his all.  It was such an enjoyable trail with the lake next to you, and riding in and out of wooded areas.  I turned around a few times to make sure we were all pretty much together, so in the end I got in 20 miles.  It felt good to be out there, and I needed the practice because this weekend we're going camping and cycling up in Iowa.  And within a few days...we're supposed to ride 100 miles.  I'm ready...I think.  After we got done out there we were all starving, so we headed to one of our favorite restaurants, which I had not been to in a while, 54th Street Bar and Grill.   I was pleased to see they had added a few things to the menu, and I knew exactly what I wanted.
A veggie burger with sweet potato fries.  I was freezing in there though, so I matched it with a cup of coffee.  It definitely hit the spot and was a good way to end our day.  Yummy!
