We went to a place called Füd. It just opened 11 weeks ago, and focuses on organic, local, and vegan food. I didn't know what to expect when arriving there and at first, it was a little different than I expected. It was pretty small inside and totally packed out, I think that's a good sign, but there was no where to sit. And there were only two people working, so we stood there a while waiting to be helped. Once we ordered we found a dirty table to occupy, that eventually got wiped down for us. We chatted while we waited for our food, which helped to pass the time. It eventually came, and I was ready to chow down.
I got the special, which was two tacos. I got two different kinds, one of which was:
A corn tortilla folded and fried crispy around our wild rice "meat" and cashew cheddar, topped with chashew sour cream, guacamole, and pico.
and the other was:
A corn tortilla folded and fried crispy around our spicy molé seasoned green jack fruit, and cashew cheddar, topped with cashew sour cream, guacamole, and pico.
They were the best tacos, vegan or not! I loved the flavors in them. They were so amazing and definitely made up for everything that happened before sinking my teeth into them.
Jordan was pretty anxious to try the sandwich he got. He's been awesome about being adventurous and trying new things with me. He may not eat like I do all of the time, but I'm so happy for the support I get from him!
He got the spicy tofu sandwich. He said it had great flavor and he really enjoyed it, but it was a little on the messy side. It included:
whole wheat bread, Central Soy tofu, goji chedder, lettuce, tomato, and purple onion. All sandwiches come with a salad.
The food was delicious and definitely made the experience. Jordan pointed out that he seemed to notice most vegan people seemed to be pretty chill and not mindful of time and just pretty laid back. He could be right in those assumptions, but I almost hate the fact that we've gotten used to things happening so fast and as we demand them, that sometimes an experience can sit wrong with us, because it's not up to our standards. I think it's good to slow down sometimes, and be patient, knowing we have some freshly prepared for us food comin our way. What do you think? Do you get caught up in living in a fast food nation?

It was a wonderful day with you, sweetheart, and that always makes trying something new worthwhile. Your picture of those flowers really turned out well, it looks awesome!
