Last Post I Was Praising Technology, But This Post I'm Cursing It!

While I was waiting for the sun to come up before my run this morning, I caught up on a new post on my friend Amanda's Blog.  She is a running super star, and the one who got me motivated to get back to running and believe I could do anything I set out to do.  I loved her wonderings from yesterday, and it got me excited to get out and hit the pavement.  Sometimes I wonder how I'm ever going to run the distance I set out to do, but as she talked about what inspires us to sustain, a thought occurred to me...With all of our traveling I get to run in so many different cities.  How cool is that!  And today I got to explore 7 miles of Fort Worth, Texas by foot.
It was all city runnin today.  Lots of morning traffic and stoplights.  Oh yeah...and kids waiting for the school bus.  I guess it all added to motivation to have good form and speed, and look like I knew what I was doing.  The sunrise was so beautiful this morning.  Watching the sky change throughout my run, is one of my favorite things!
Good morning sun!
All was going to well, until my music stopped.  I looked down to see what was going on, and there was nothing going on.  My i-pod was frozen!!  Now I know you're thinking this was no big deal, but to me...it was a huge deal.  Because I function best sticking to a schedule, and my schedule said I needed to run 7 miles, and now how in the world was I going to know how far I had went.  But there it was...frozen at 4.38 miles.  I got it moving again, but I had to start my workout all over...and the music was not cooperating.  No big deal...the traffic and my breathing would just carry me the rest of the way.  I got home (and by home I mean my friend's apt.--we have no home right now, so wherever we are for the moment--that is home) and was looking at everything and was glad I completed what I set out to do.  And I wanted to see my run, because I love to look back and see how I did, and evaluate my run.  But what's this:
Seriously!?  No saved workouts!?  My run is now nowhere to be found???  We used to be friends Nike+, but right now I am very mad.  I like to see on my Nike+ page the runs I have completed, to track my progress, and I was only 3 miles away from reaching the green level!  I know that I did it...but I like the validation of being able to see it.
Oh well...enough of my ranting.  I just hope this doesn't happen again.
