Today I started some training:
I set a goal this year of running a 10k since I had done several 5ks...but then I figured, you know I always underestimate myself, I should reach a little higher. Thus today I began training for a 1/2 marathon. I went to runnersworld and found a manageable training schedule for the time I have, and what I think will fit into all of the traveling we do. (Thanks Amanda for your help and inspiration!)
A few things about my first day...
1. It said I should run about a 13 minute mile, but I was a bit faster than that. I need to research if that's a bad thing and I should slow down, or just go at my pace.
2. My Nike+ is calibrated wrong, so where it said I did 2 miles, I think I did more like 2.3. Which also means I ran faster than it said I did. It said I clocked my best mile which was a 10.34, and Tiger Woods congratulated me...not sure how I feel about that. Anyway...I need to fix that before next time.
3. The mosquitoes were not as bad today because I got smart a put bug spray on.
4. I met up with a friend and she brought a few friends, and even though we didn't run together, it was so nice to have people around.
I'm feelin really good about all of this right now, and I'm excited to see how the weeks progress. Anybody else have any goals or special things they're training for?

Yay for half marathon training! If you're running a pace that is comfortable for you, then don't change it! That plan is generic, you just have to make it personal to you! Great job!!
