My life feels like a roller coaster and I don't really know when this ride's gonna slow down. We're having a blast though, minus the times I get really stressed out. =) Needless to say, I have had no time to blog.
Last week I was up at the church everyday helping with Vacation Bible School. It was a blast. Little kids are some much fun. I helped another lady at our church with the crafts.
Our theme was the High Seas Adventure. Everyday the kids gave nickels for missions and at the end of the week...they raised $1000 to send to Cory and Jessie Lyons, missionaries we'll be working with in the Philippines. The money will buy them puppets for their ministry. And every $10 equals a puppet...you do the math...that's a lot of puppets.
And the week ended with this:
A garage sale! This thing looks pretty rinky dink, but we did it Friday and Saturday, and on Saturday we sold a lot of stuff, plus all of our furniture. With that being said...we're not really gonna have a place to call home until we get to the Philippines. We'll be traveling non-stop starting on Saturday until December. They Chevy Malibu will be our home for now, as well as friends, and kind strangers that let us in.
Jordan was the money man, because he threw his back out. Poor guy. But it's finally starting to get better, only we have more moving to do!
We also got a little Starbucks for the morning, seeing as how it had been a long week. And though I gave up coffee...I can make an exception every now and again. I had a grande sugar free hazelnut latte made with soy milk, and extra hot! Along with a Two Mom's in the Raw Blueberry Bar. Love these things!
I was pretty content at that moment. I'm excited for what the Fall will bring, but also a little nervous. I know this is a part of what God has called us to, so I'm just trusting Him along the way.
After a week like that there was only one thing that could help ease the stress...(slight exaggeration)
Ice cream and cookies for breakfast!!! I made a microwave oatmeal cookie, and topped it off with some banana soft serve with cocoa nibs. YUMMY! I skipped my run on Sunday because I was pretty tired from the crazy week and we had a busy day on Sunday, but I didn't let that be an excuse. I made up for it on Monday.
It was a rough morning though. Somehow I'm not getting up as easily as I once did. I got a later start than I wanted, but I loaded up with plenty of water to beat the heat. After 3 1/2 miles I had to take a break...I'll spare you the details. And then I resumed my run. I ran 3/4 of a mile before I realized that even though my music was playing, my workout was still paused. But I wanted to see 6 miles, so I ran until then. So I really ran 6 3/4 mile. And I felt good the whole time. It's an amazing feeling to tackle long distances. I never was involved in any sports in high school or anything, so I love the challenge I feel with running. And there's no pressure. It's just me.
Well we're no in a crazy busy week of moving out of our house, and heading to KC at the end of the week...lets see how consistent I can be again.
