Flourless Chocolate Brownies
I've been on the hunt for a good "healthy" brownie. I tried out the black bean variations and they were all ok, but left me wanting something more brownie like. While I was in Springfield, MO a couple months back my brother and I must have hit up MaMa Jean's about 10 times that week. I love that little market, and it makes me miss living there even more. One of the cool things that they do is have sample days, where you can try out some of the products before you buy them. Not only do you get to try things they've cooked up, but also tons of samples to take home, and recipes and tips on how to make things. That's where I picked up this recipe, and I've been wanting to try it out ever since I saw it. They're exactly what I've been looking for! So amazing. And I think that the key ingredient is the Almond Butter, which is also the key ingredient in my favorite cookies. They're quite amazing, and not only do they taste scrumptious, but they're vegan and gluten free!
You'll need:
2 cups almond butter (I made my own, just by putting raw almonds in the good ole food processor)
1 cup applesauce (also made my own, by boiling 4 apples, peeled and chopped in 3/4 cup of water w/ some cinnamon)
pinch of sea salt
2/3 cup liquid sweetener (agave, maple, honey)
1/2 cup cocoa powder (I used carob)
Beat with mixer, pour into greased pan, and bake @ 325 for 25-30 minutes.
You can also get creative and add things like coconut, walnuts, chocolate chips, etc.
Isn't that the easiest recipe! They're a must have. You won't be sorry you made them.

Oh YUM! This look AH-MAZING!
