Excited and nervous and ready to hit the trail. I had to tell myself how strong I was and that this was going to be a piece of cake! It was a beautiful morning out, minus the stinking humidity and I was ready to do this!
I just concentrated on breathing, and keeping a steady pace...trying to get my mind off of thinking how long I thought 4 miles was. The loop at Rice Park is 1.25 miles, so I knew I just had to do a little over 3 laps. Every time I came back around to where Jordan was I got a surge of energy to help me keep going. I told him that day of the race, he's gonna have to be cheering on the side with posters for me, all along the way. =)
=) And here I am post-run:
It felt good to go that distance. I know I'm still just in the beginning, but I think maybe I actually consider myself a runner now. I was pretty sweaty at this point and ready to get away from all of the wretched mosquitoes. They weren't bad until I stopped running. I counted 15 bites when I got home. UGH! And here's the breakdown:
The Splits were:
Mile 1:10:07
Mile 2:10:45
Mile 3:10:47
Mile 4:9:40
Mile 1:10:07
Mile 2:10:45
Mile 3:10:47
Mile 4:9:40

I'm so proud of you and your accomplishments. Your drive and determination is such an inspiration to me. Thank you for being so amazing!
